Apparently, so did SHE, since she didn't date the entire time she was in high school for that exact reason. To the parents out there that say they would not let there 17 year old daughter date a 20 year old boy. Lets just say YOU THINK you know everything that's happening. Do you think a 20 year old dating a 17 year old is wrong?I agree that there's generally a big difference between 20 and 17, which is why generally I don't date younger women and I've made it a rule not to date high school girls. As for not dating in the work place, if I had some important job I would agree. Of course it is WRONG, unless the woman is the 20 year old and the 17 year old is a male. when I was in High School I had next to nothing in common with them. Anyway, I also think you're maybe looking for an excuse, or somebody's permission. If she or her parents have a problem you'll find out soon enough, even if you don't ask them.My son is 23 years old and is dating a 17 year old girl. Her mother has threatened him with the police and that she'll have him arrested if he doesn't stay away from her daughter.
As long as sex did not start before 16 the mother can legally not take any action.
If the boy/girl goes to a different state he can be prosecuted depending on the age of consent there.
When you say he will need to be careful, are you referring to another state's law or if his girlfriend goes to another state or they go together to another state????
If they have sex let's say in Ohio they can be arrested. If you found this answer helpful please press the ACCEPT button.
He met her when she was 15 and he was 21, although she lied at that time and told him she was 18.
