All five terrorists who stormed the Indian Air Force base in Punjab’s border town Pathankot were gunned down by the security forces in a 15-hour-long gun battle that started in the wee hours of Saturday.
“A group of terrorists was detected by the aerial surveillance platforms as soon as they entered the air force station Pathankot,” the defence ministry said, adding the infiltrators were immediately engaged and contained within a limited area and prevented from entering the technical zone where the planes are parked.
